Battle of the Diapers

First I must say this is not a sponsor ad. If you are a diaper company that is looking for someone to talk about your diapers let Maria Kamon Photography know. Feel free to use the contact form with all the information. The photographs in this blog are provided by wix.com

A closet is full of diapers or is it? I had never thought of what type of diapers I was going to use until after I had my first child. You see everyone talks about diapers. The closet was filled with all the baby shower gifts of diapers. This gave me the feeling that I didn't have to think of diapers. I had plenty of diapers was my thought.

Then I had my baby. If you are anything like me at that moment reality hit. That closet full of baby diapers was used so fast I was shocked by the reality. 1. Not all diapers are made equal. 2. The cost of diapers affects the budget.

How does one decide what diapers are best for your child? It's a terrible reality there is only one way. Trail and error. Each child is different like their needs are different. I was one of those that asked the pediatrician, nurse, and professionals in the field of taking care of children. Then the moms in the neighborhood talked about the nanny services available, laundry services, and brand names. There are some things I wish I would have thought of.

What is best for my child? Right? Each product is different and offers different selling points. This was surprising to me as a new mom. How much people had an opinion, thought, advice on what, how, when, why, what, I should use on my child. That's why I thought I'd write a blog about the topic of diapers. What is my Best advice:

" I have non. " Why don't I have an opinion. I needed to go through all the products trying to find out what type of diaper worked best for my child and me as a mom. My maternal instinct was so involved that advice was heard, but not always taken. Mothering a child is part about the child and partly about the maturation process that naturally happens when one becomes a mother. Not sure if it is the same for dads.

Here are some things to consider:

  1. Monthly Budget : (What can you afford) Diapers are not worth going over your budget for.)

  2. Lifestyle (How active are you planning on being.)

  3. Duration (I know this sound rather mean. Diaper company's tell you how often to change the child's diaper that's not always accurate. It is their recommendation.) The reality is parents don't always do what is written on the package.

  4. You are making the best decisions possible with the information you have. As a new parent, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, therefore as long as you feel like you are trying your best, then you'll feel good about your decision and that will help you to become a good parent for your child.accurate.
